I’m cleaning and organizing my stuffs lalo na yung mga gamit ko nung high school and last school year. inutusan ako ng mom ko kasi nakatambak sa kwarto ko. heck, yun pa naman ang pinaka ayaw ko – yung mag ayos ng gamit. maglinis ng bahay pwede pa pero wag lang talaga ito. pero no choice ako. and kanina, while inaayos ko nga yung mga kalat este gamit ko. nakakita ako ng isa sa mga reaction papers na sinulat ko nung unang sem ng college ako. importante para sakin ito kasi bihira lang akong mag sulat ng MATINONG essay. share ko sa inyo. bakit kamo? gusto ko eh.

“Take not the road less traveled”, spoke by Mikaela Irene Fudolig in her remarkable speech during the 96th General Commencement Exercises of the University of the Philippines. She meant that going abroad is not the only way to meet success; but staying here, striving hard and pulling out all the stops is an another path. But as for Patricia Evangelista, she believed that going home to our beloved Philippines is going to be more important than anything else. She just wanted not to waste what every Filipino has, so taking opportunities outside is what is better.

Reading the two speeches makes me feel proud. Proud in a way that we have people like Fudolig and Evangelista, people that have their own beliefs and ideas that keep them strong, willing, and determined to aspire their own goals. And never losing them and always keeping them in mind and in soul.

I’m not really on somebody’s side since they are right and wrong on some ways; however my opinion would rather be like Fudolig’s. For me, leaving the Philippines is just an option to achieve one’s goal. In fact it is like “taking shortcuts” which is sometimes a way to success; yet, some are leading to one’s despair. You know what? There’s more than one way to skin a cat. Just believe at yourself and keep striving hard, giving the best that you can will able to keep your body and soul together.

Though the path staying here in the Philippines is difficult, why not think of it as a challenge? A challenge that will make every Filipino brave enough to face the coming challenges they will meet in the future. And through those challenges, we will become stronger and better Filipinos than today. I know we can’t read the handwriting on the wall, but why not take the risk of living in this country instead of risking outside? Well, all i can say is break a leg…

    ^_^

pasabay na din ung kwarto ko. hehehehe.

neex: ako, isa o dalawang papers di nakapagpasa. bagsak tuloy. pero ngayon, naeencourage akong mag ibang bansa dahil sa mga taong walang ginawa kundi mag rally at mag protest dito sa pinas.

  6. nice essay.
this is one question din na tinatanong ko, what will happen to our country if everyone will find their luck outside?

“Though the path staying here in the Philippines is difficult, why not think of it as a challenge? A challenge that will make every Filipino brave enough to face the coming challenges they will meet in the future. And through those challenges, we will become stronger and better Filipinos than today.”

It’s kinda weird to hear it from a Nursing student like you. So I’ll ask you a question Neex, would you rather stay and ‘think of it (staying) as a challenge?’ or would rather take a shortcut to your success?

    [nahhh, nevermind me, lol]

neex: plastikan lang yan. lam mo na, to get good grades. lol. and actually, nag iwan yung prof ko ng note sa paper ko asking the same question you asked. sagot ko: basahin mo nalang yung reply ko sa comment before itong sayo

  7. that’s funny. lol. i kinda hate those people who parade and rally bringing “karatula” at malacanang’s palace. i mean, it’s not just about the government, it’s also about them. when their life is getting harder each day, they always blame the government. tsk.

neex: wala naman sigurong masama kung mag rally. kaso yun nalang puro ginagawa ng mga tao. that’s what i hate about it.
